Panabo City's First Sunya Red Belt Certification
On 9 January 2025, Panabo City witnessed a quiet yet powerful milestone—the first-ever Sunya Red Belt Certification Class conducted in the city. It wasn't loud. It wasn't flashy. And that's precisely the point. It was meaningful.
For over a year, students at Panabo Senior City High School have been practicing Sunya Meditation with consistency and sincerity under the steady guidance of Sunya Council Guide TJ Gayta. What began as a practice has now matured into a culture. From a school community of more than 800 Sunyatees, 103 students stepped forward on this day to receive their Red Belt Certification—a mark of discipline, commitment, and inner growth.
This achievement goes beyond numbers. It reflects something far more important: a school ecosystem where teachers lead by example, where mental wellness is not an afterthought, and where stillness is respected as a strength.
Panabo Senior City High School stands today as a model of conscious education. It shows what becomes possible when educators choose transformation over routine, depth over noise, and long-term well-being over short-term outcomes.
Our heartfelt congratulations to the faculty, staff, and students who made this moment possible. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the Sunya Council Guides: Neng Suelto, Tina Suelto, Darlene Suelto, Zai Chan, and Josh Diaz—thank you for what you offer, and more importantly, for who you are.
Which school is next? Who is ready to place clarity, stillness, and inner strength back into the hands of our youth? The path is clear. The invitation is open. Let's bring Sunya into more classrooms—where it belongs.
Visit to the Tlaxcala Factory, Mexico
Practicing Sunya at the Tlaxcala Factory was a deeply moving and unexpected experience for me. Being in a working factory environment, surrounded by daily activity and responsibility, and then entering into stillness created a powerful inner shift.
As I practiced Sunya, I felt my body relax naturally and my breath slow down. The constant mental noise I usually carry during work began to settle. There was a sense of clarity and lightness, as if everything inside me aligned without effort. It reminded me that calm is not something we escape to—it is something we can access anywhere.
What touched me most was realizing that Sunya truly belongs in everyday life, even in spaces driven by productivity and performance. After the practice, I felt more centered, focused, and emotionally balanced. The work around me felt smoother, and my connection to the people and the space felt deeper.
This experience showed me that inner stillness strengthens outer action. Sunya at the factory was simple, real, and quietly transformative.
A Living Connection Beyond Borders: 5,000 Sunyatees United in Peru
Sunya has become much more than a practice in my life—it is a living connection that quietly weaves itself through every place, every relationship, and every moment of service. Whether it is shared in a service center, a city hall, a beach, or through a simple Zoom screen, the essence remains the same: stillness that connects hearts beyond geography.
I feel deeply moved witnessing the dedication of SIF Council Members from Arequipa, Perú, as they share Sunya Everest Tuesday at the Diego Condori Service Center, and in Juliaca, Perú, alongside CA Pedro Apaza. These moments remind me that Sunya grows not through force, but through sincere continuity and shared intent.
One of the most powerful milestones in this journey was a large-scale Sunya program in Perú that brought together over 5,000 participants. Experiencing collective stillness at such a scale was profoundly humbling. Thousands of people sitting together in silence, breathing as one, created an atmosphere of deep calm and unity that words can barely describe.
Even during this year, as I chose to slow down my physical travel and focus on online sharing, my connection with Sunya has only deepened. Guiding sessions via Zoom has shown me that true presence is not limited by distance — across Mexico, Perú, Bolivia, and Argentina.
Supporting the Spanish translation of the Agamas, together with my husband, has been another profound layer of this journey. It feels like offering a bridge—allowing ancient wisdom to speak clearly and directly to Spanish-speaking seekers.
What I feel most strongly is gratitude. Sunya has taught me that attachment here is not dependency—it is belonging. Serving through Sunya feels like coming home again and again.
